As you can see, it was very cold on Saturday. I was so bundled up. I was hoping to see some celebrities while we were there. Tyler reminded me that we could have very easily seen some but everyone was so bundled up that we never would have known ...... just look at me!

New York City
Ty and I were able to go on our first trip away in a LONG time! We went to New York City. It was so nice to get away. I loved the city. It was so beautiful and easy to get around. We must have walked 10 miles each day!! We first walked through Central Park, and then went shopping on 5th Avenue and Times Square. It was beautiful outside both days so walking was very refreshing. Once it was dark I had to see the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center. I always see it on tv but had to see it in person.
Then on Saturday we went shopping/walking through SoHo, Tribeca and then off to Ground Zero. I was a little disappointed in Ground Zero because I think they should have more of a memorial there for the victims who lost their lives. I wanted to see pictures and stories about each person who did not survive 9/11. We did go to the church across the street (St. Paul's) which housed all of the firefighters when they were trying to recover any survivors from the Trade Centers. The church was such a moving place.
It showed pictures of some of the victims and of the hard working firefighters. I was amazed to find out that the church set up hundreds of cots in the church so the firemen could sleep there in between shifts.
You can't see anything where the buildings were. There is a huge tall fence surrounding it. However, we found a small hole in the fence and were able to peek in.

Here I am on the park bench reading, while Ty continued to take pictures. This park I am at overlooks the Statue of Liberty. We had a great time and would love to go back. We missed our little Drew but it was nice to get away for a quick weekend.
